I like playing with words. The title poem for Floyd the Flamingo came about because I liked how Floyd and flamingo sounded together. I really enjoy alliteration. It's fun! I also like looking at situations from a slightly different angle than usual. For example, what if, instead of a child being amazed at seeing a bear, a bear was amazed at seeing a child? My kids are a great source of inspiration, too. They remind me to look—really LOOK—at the world, not just take things for granted as many adults do.
